Hello, my name is Latanya Jackson-Kelley I'm a 34 year old senior at Texas A&M Commerce in Corsicana, TX. I live in Malakoff ,TX. I was born and raised there. Although, I did move away for about 10 years when I got married, but I ended up moving back to East Texas in 2007 when I got separated. I have three wonderful kids who I love dearly. I enjoy spending time with my family, going to church, I am a woman of faith I have overcame and faced many obstacles in my life. I am on disability I have a disability I used to be embarrassed about it, but than I started thinking, it is out of my control and I'm thankful to still be alive. I still have my kids I have to live for. yes, it gets hard at time for me but I still keep pushing my way through trying not to never give up on my dreams and desire. I love and enjoy being around kids it is my desire to try to make a difference in kids life, believing in them and encouraging them not to never give up on their dreams letting them know that they can be whatever they want to be if they would just believe In their selves, put forth the effort, stay positive and focus than they can make it.
There are all different types of unique technology to fit any and everybody learning styles.I truly believe that having technology in the classroom is a very good idea. I feel that technology can provide teachers and students with opportunities for teaching and learning that used to be impossible in the past. Computers are one of the main technology that every classroom should have. They can be used as tools to create instructional materials to provide information in ways never before possible. Technology gives students independence and motivation because they feel like they can do it all by themselves. On the other hand though, we need not to forget about the basic things, because a lot of people depends on technology where it is making people lazy to think with their brains.
By taking this class I'm looking forward to learning new things about technology and how to make technology successful in my classroom and to try to be the best educator that I can possibly be. I'm so exited because I always want to know more new things about anything that will better educate me and help me be the best teacher I can be. My goal is to be the best educator I can be and learn more about technology so I can better prepare my students.
